Hybrids have a thicker body than regular bluegills and are more colorful. Hyrbid bluegills grow faster than regular bluegills and can grow 1/4 to 1/2 lb per year. They can be stocked at a rate of 1000 or more per acre. These fish will take pellet feed, eat insects and other natural pond food.
